Clark Vandergrift, a former cross country railroad brakeman turned creative, has won numerous awards as a director, dp/cinematographer, filmmaker, and photographer. His sensibilities deliver narratives and visuals that can be powerful and gritty, or sublime and emotional; but always on message and memorable. He’s known for being calm and collected on set, providing clear and relatable communication; and, when needed, making something out of nothing. Clark doesn’t spend a lot of time fussing with a selfie stick or pondering which emoji to use. He leans old school in the sense that he values living in the moment, a solid handshake, and the art of a well told story.
